The Pinocchio Hypothesis

The Pinocchio Hypothesis extends theories that explain the apparent multiple John Reinhardts by observing what they say about tulpas and extrapolating.

Pinocchio refers to the puppet who became real. During the first tulpa discussion between the Cell #23 Reinhardt and Commissioner Stoker, Reinhardt relates that a tulpa that becomes "endowed with enough vitality to be capable of playing the part of a real being (tends) to free itself from its maker's control." Continuing, he tells of cases where tulpas pursue their own mischievous agendas, failing to return after a mission or continuing on unguided after the death of their creator.

It's almost a given that a tulpa was created. What if John Reinhardt made a bunch of tulpas? What if the one who died in the Hamburg hotel two years ago was the real Reinhardt? How mischievous have the rogue puppets gotten in the two (or more) years since their strings were cut? And, perhaps most important, how many more are there?
