The Mirror Event

While visiting the Rustmonkey Club, Doktor Sleepless has a conversation with himself in an empty bathroom. He converses with his reflection, which responds, about the strain of being Doktor Sleepless. The reflection responds:

"I'm the only version of you left, Johnny boy. I mean, what else is there? The John Reinhardt that died in a hotel room in Hamburg two year ago? The one who never actually went to the amazon at all? The one in the rubber room right here in Heavenside? None of them are viable. You know which one this is. The only one. The one who walked into our parents' bedroom that night and saw... ...what we saw." *visual of tentacle attack*

This event is interesting on several points. Primarily, it points out several identities of John Reinhardt. Secondly, it relates to several reader theories on the nature of John Reinhardt/Doktor Sleepless (see The Virtual Sleepless Hypothesis). And thirdly, it once again brings the Lovecraft element into the technology world that Doktor Sleepless inhabits. Fourthly, his reflection is not mirroring him.

It is also worth noting that Nurse Igor's response is, "Jesus, not again--" and that the good Doktor is clutching a shard of broken mirror, wielding it like a weapon. The Nurse's reaction suggests this is not the first time this has occurred.
