A possible variation/combination on the Tulpa, Cthulhu and The Barbie Cult Hypothesis would be that seeing the Cthulhu event when he was 5 caused him to have the ability to be in several places at once, as is described in Tim Powers' secret history book "Declare"- sort of physical MPD, which will explain why he and the Doktor seem to behave so differently.

Another possibility is a variation on The Dick Hypothesis in which John Reinhardt managed to contact his selfs from nearby alternate earths, and allow them to come into the "real" earth- with the Doktor being from the earth "closest" to the one where the series takes place, hence he is the "realest" of them, it also rather easily explains the other John Reinhardts referenced in The Mirror Event as they would be other variations.The blood swap is also explained by this theory:there is a good chance that at least part of the DNA in the Doktor's genome is different from the "original" Reinhardt's.--Antongarou 16:00, 14 April 2008(GMT+2)
