It is possible that Ockam and Stoker have a link regarding the date May 26, as Bram [Stoker]s most famous work was released on this day [1] and on the same date in 1328 William of [Ockham] fled the 14th Century papal city of Avignon due to theological differences with Pope John XXII.[2] --Filthmammoth 22:24, 8 November 2007 (PST)

Occam's Razor as Prison

There's a philosopher of Science called Paul Feyereabend who among other things, set out to show that Occam's razor favours stagnation of understanding due to its preference for preestablished knowledge. We need to posit new entities, regardless of how well supported existent entities are, in order to advance our understanding, yet traditional understandings of scientific method seem to run counter to this intuition. --Confusion 16:36, 14 December 2007 (PST)
