Talk:Nurse
From doktorsleepless
Is Igor really her name, though? I thought that was just a joke to herself while toiling at the machines.--Murphix 05:08, 6 September 2007 (PDT)
Her name isn't Nurse Igor. --Warren Ellis 05:35, 6 September 2007 (PDT)
Side note referenced on the Posters page: In cell room #23, across from the man in the cell, there are two things posted on the wall. 1) A "Non-Product" poster and 2) what looks to be a large photograph of a woman who looks strikingly close to "Nurse", but with long hair instead of short. Who put them there on the wall, since they appear to be outside the area the man inside the cell can actually get to? (page 19, Issue #2) Why? Does this link to the Tulpa theory in that Nurse is only a product of John Reinhardt's mind? --Kim 22:17, 20 September 2007 (PDT) (aka: Celidhesmasque)
The first time we see Nurse, her bra is showing, and the color is white. After DJ Amun dies, her bra is now red in the next panels. I've been wondering about this. Was this colored on purpose that way, or was it an error?

I noticed that as Nurse is walking away from the library, most people are running towards the commotion. However, there is one man in a suit, carrying a blue bag, with a goatee and holding an umbrella walking calmly AWAY from the scene. He seems fairly detached from the situation. --Spiraltwist 21:20, 30 March 2008 (PDT)
It seems to me possible that "Irene Adler" is one of the Nurse's former names. It's the way the lecture unfolds: when Nurse asks about Imminent.sea, Max Cale mentions only three people from the group beginning with himself, then the Doktor's former alias, and finally (and so, most significantly) Irene--saying "Yeah, everyone remembers her," and this moments after he himself recognizes the Nurse in the audience. --444 early morning, 31 March '08.
Hmm....that is worth noting. I've thought that the Nurse could have been one of them at one time.--Spiraltwist 14:22, 31 March 2008 (PDT)
I also think the above theory is supported by the dialogue during the meeting between Max and the Nurse in the back room: it's very sexual--especially the whole knifing. If the Nurse was one of the Imminent.sea bloggers, then this also gives a concrete link in regards to her relationship with the Doktor as the two of them seem relatively familiar/comfortable with one and other, which tends to suggest that they have had other dealings in the past beyond their current employer-employee relationship.--444 16:18, 31 March 2008 (UTC-7)
No. If the Nurse had been a part of the imminent.sea gang, the Doktor would have known she knew Max.--Mark 11:21, 3 April 2008 (PDT)
Ooo, good point. I looked over the opening page (like, both sides, right) of issue five, and yer right, the Doktor certainly seems to be operating under the impression that Nurse and Max Cale are unknown to one and other. Like wouldn't he have said something like, "You know, Max, from Imminent.sea." I don't think it means that Nurse couldn't have been Irene, but it does make the possibility more remote.
But y'know, now that you mention it, it seems weird to me that Sleepless isn't aware that Max and Nurse have a history-and quite an entwined one at that!--444 02:39, 04 April 2008 (UTC-7).
Oh, and what makes us so sure the nurse was a child in the times before the internet? She doesn't seem that old and this is set in the future.--Mark 11:23, 3 April 2008 (PDT)
Hmmm....she doesn't appear old. But looks can be deceiving, etc. --Spiraltwist 22:48, 3 April 2008 (PDT)
While we're talking about (OK, critiquing) the Nurse article (Mark's comment above, n' I agree fer 2 cents), what's this about Nurse thinking the Doktor wanted Max dead? I mean, how does that come out of those first three pages? -- 444 02:53, 04 April 2008 (UTC-7).
I've the urge to redo this page entirely, complete with new pictures. The information needs to be stream-lined, I think. --Spiraltwist 10:27, 12 April 2008 (PDT)
Commence with breakage & repair. --Spiraltwist 21:30, 13 April 2008 (PDT)
A note about the problem with her memory. My mother was a nurse, and I do recall that she had numerous medical manuals and references around the house, including several that had quite a bit of detail about drugs and their effects (although I cannot remember the manuals names). In addition, I did learn quite about medicine from her at a young age (I was quite curious), although very little about untraceable murder. I would say that the Nurse's mother, being someone who did kill her husband, might have been the type of person who would talk about that sort of thing with their child. All in all, I find it plausible. --Tom 13:34, 17 April 2008 (PDT)
It's interesting that the Nurse-as-child throws/drops her teddy bear before confronting her mother with the truth of her fathers death (or murder, as it were). It's almost like she is symbolically throwing away/shrugging off her her childhood as she does this. --Spiraltwist 19:20, 21 May 2008 (PDT)
or that she is getting ready to sock her mom in the face.--KloKworK 17:19, 3 July 2008 (PDT)
