"It's interesting to me how we defang our nightmares -- by mocking them, but also by wearing their skins." -- Warren Ellis on Whitechapel
Preston Stoker's character is what made me highlight this in Whitechapel. The statement is bothering me because I think there is more to it. --Spiraltwist 20:51, 24 September 2008 (PDT)
You highlighted the "wearing their skins" bit. That actually makes me think more of Dr. Albert Cannon than Stoker. I guess the creepy factor on Dr. Cannon is a bit higher than on Stoker for me. Then again, Stoker's habit of referring to himself in the 3rd person may suggest he's something only pretending to be Stoker. (A first non-Reinhardt tulpa perhaps?) But that doesn't quite jive with Warren's statement: it's really not defanging our nightmares, that's stealing the fangs for your own use. --Taz 00:30 2008.09.25 (EDT)
Sigh. I meant to write Dr. Albert Cannon, not Preston Stoker. Lack of sleep does that to me. I know better than to wiki late at night. ;) --Spiraltwist 16:49, 25 September 2008 (PDT)
