Is it acceptable to put information into this that was gleaned from previews, or does that make whoever does it a terrible spoilering bastard? --Lamuella 20:24, 4 September 2007 (PDT)

PREVIEWS

Acceptable, but bear in mind at all times that I'm a terrible lying bastard.

Multiple Reinhardts

I thought that the Reinhardt that died in the hotel room and the "one that never even went to the Amazon" were two different Johns? That would put the number of possible alternates at four (Doktor Sleepless, John-23, Dead John, non-Amazon John).--Adrammalech 19:14, 12 September 2007 (PDT)

The Alexandra David-Neel story is a real story - as in it exists outside the Ellisverse. I ran across that story as a kid in a Time-Life book called "Mysteries of the Unknown[1]." It always kind of stuck with me. Interesting to see it again. Here's another exert from her diary.[2]--Grim 20:58, 24 October 2007 (PDT)

In Issue 3 Reinhardt as Doktor Sleepless mentions to the Nurse that "It's always later than you think... It took dying for me to find that out." Could this imply that the real John Reinhardt is dead, and it was that death that allows his Tulpa to run wild? Also in Issue 3, as narrated by Alexandra David-Neel: "Once the Tulpa is endowed with enough vitality to be capable of playing the part of a real being, it tends to be free of its maker's control... The same thing, it is said, may happen when the maker of the tulpa dies before having dissolved it."

This could suggest that there were three total John Reinhardts: the original, who created a Tulpa who would go on to travel to the Amazon, Reinhardt himself passing away in the hospital. The Tulpa would necessarily have the knowledge of the original Reinhardt, and could possibly create his own Tulpa (alternatively, Reinhardt could have created a second Tulpa before his death because he had already come to realize that his first was beyond his control). This is an interesting theory because it imples that neither Doktor Sleepless nor the imprisoned John Reinhardt are the real deal. However, it is also possible that one of them is the real Reinhardt and the John who passed away in the hospital was the original Tulpa being dissolved . . . though this scenario seems less likely. In conclusion, I would posit that there were a total of two Tulpas and one original, though the possibility is always there that there could have been more Tulpas.

One of the variant coves has Doktor Sleepless lounging on a sofa. Behind him, in a large liquid-filled glass tube, are two men either floating or moving inside. Could this be the reference to the two tulpas? --Spiraltwist 22:05, 1 December 2007 (PST)

On the first page of issue number one, the candles burn down and then out as he is talking in the mirror. Does he have more converstations that would take more time, and we just aren't privy to them? Or is he somehow outside of time, skimming back in and out as needed? The candles should not have melted that fast, in that short of a time. Time is either screwy, or he his. Or both.

Does that make sense to anyone?

Loose Time...it's one of the "Warning Signs" hanging about (see the Warning Sign cover for Issue05)...so, yeah, it does make sense. I half wondered about the candle thing at the time and then forgot all about it until you mentioned it here. --Kim 20:10, 13 December 2007 (PST)
