I don't remember any mention of 23 in the Call of Cthulhu. Illuminatus! on the other hand features 23 and has some Cthulu stuff. --Slurkid 04:18, 12 September 2007 (PDT)

I re-read the Call of Cthulhu. In the story, on the 23rd of March, people start dreaming of an alien city, and continue to do so until the 2nd of April, at 3pm. Apart from the references of to 23, this is kind of similar to the discriptions of Ayahuasca trips. --Slurkid 10:28, 16 September 2007 (PDT)

Actual place is in the Principia Discordia (which Illuminatus! uses heavily). No mention of Cthulhu directly. But see the Law of Fives: "All things happen in Fives, or are Divisible by or are Multiples of Five, or are somehow directly or indirectly Appropriate to Five." 23 is a close variant: 2+3=5, so if you can relate it to 23, it's related to 5. Just imagine the Law of Fives as a game of numerological degrees-of-Kevin-Bacon.
