Sing Watson
From doktorsleepless
Sing Watson lives in Heavenside, where she runs the bookstore Catastrophe Books. She and John Reinhardt were lovers before he disappeared, and co-owned the store. She is not happy to learn that he may be back in town.
She was once an outspoken voice in the Grinder subculture, but her involvement has fallen off. Her friend DJ Amun committed suicide recently.
Has some sort of body modification over her clavicles that spells her first name, possibly scarification or a Subdermal Implant[1]
Does not believe in personal RFID tags, but in issue #6 she "tagged" the door open for Mars.
Interested in the works of Mayita Fuentes.
Watson's name echoes John Watson [2], the partner of famed detective Sherlock Holmes, and James Watson [3], who partnered with Francis Crick to claim credit for discovering the structure of DNA. Does this reflect on John Reinhardt, who was Sing's partner?
Occasional drug user and currently dating Mars
During the course of Issue06, Sing is seen putting together a list of things that have occurred since John Reinhardt has come back to Heavenside. See: Sing's List. As she comes to the end of her list she seems to have a shocking revelation, but doesn't get a chance to write it down as Mars is banging on the door of Catastrophe Books and interrupts her.
Mars thinks she hasn't gotten over John Reinhardt, but she shares her concerns with him about Doktor Sleepless.
Waking up early the next day, Sing discovers a box of grey masks by the steps of Catastrophe Books. Taking the masks inside, she decides to bring one along to give to Celia at the hospital.
After the revelations Doktor Sleepless gives her in Isssue #8, she is determined to stop him from his course of action.
