A grinder bar in Heavenside.

Grinds often go bad there, due to the unsanitary conditions and general poverty level of the grinders who frequent the place.

Several interesting events have taken place there:

• In the hours before his first radio broadcast, Doktor Sleepless revived a grinder (Jamie) by jump-starting his heart through mad-science-y lightning fingertips (see The Science Jesus Event).

• A fabricator was delivered to the owner. It was preprogrammed to produce masks bearing Doktor Sleepless' face. Jamie and other grinders took a liking to the masks and discovered their anonymizer properties -- by jamming any tags the person is wearing, the masks render the wearer anonymous to both RFID readers and surveillance cameras.

• Presumably, the grinder mob that ran through Central Heavenside originated here, after equipping themselves with masks from the fabber.
