Max Cale was part of the imminent.sea group blog that was started about five years ago, and then closed three years ago. The blog consisted of seven people writing and tracking outbreaks of the future. Max Cale's contribution concerned criminalism and the intelligence community.
Besides having at least four drinks in him for lectures, he is known for roaming hands. He caught the attention of spooks during the imminent.sea days, who then blackmailed him into recruiting one person a year for their organization. One of his former recruits was the Nurse, whom he had sex with.
The Nurse confronts him after his lecture at the library and kills him by cutting him open with a knife. She told him she was bothered he knew some of her previous names.
