According to a history lesson Doktor Sleepless gives Tag and Dem, Hellside was located opposite Heavenside beyond Scartop Mountain. It was were the religious zealots of Heavenside banished "sailors", "fornicators", and "those others who fell by the wayside".

According to the Doktor, sometime after it was settled all the residents of Hellside died, and the town was wiped from the maps.
