Benjamin Franklin, one of the so-called "Founding Fathers" of the United States of America, is quoted by Doktor Sleepless on the closing page of Issue06. The Doktor's use of the quote is in reference to "the whole nine-eleven thing," and reads as follows:

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

According to wikiquote, there is some doubt if this phrase was actually penned by Franklin; however, the same source also claims that the (accepted?) evidence seems to point to Franklin, and in pop-culture it is generally attributed to him.
